On Thursday afternoon, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unveiled the newly renamed Donald J. Trump Bridge in East Tennessee......
President Donald Trump threatened to stop the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge. He is demanding Canada turn over at least half of the ownership of the bridge to the U.S. amid cross-border trade issues.
In February he cited Canada's refusal to stock some U.S. alcoholic beverages on Canadian store shelves, Canada's tariffs on dairy products and its trade talks with China as grounds for why he might not allow the bridge to open.
If it were called the Donald J. Trump International Bridge and we here in Canada bent over n kissed his arse, which fewer and fewer of his diminishing number of followers at home and abroad are doing, it would probably be carrying traffic by now!
Just saying.....
A blog to give a voice to our concern about the continued erosion of our democratic processes not only within the House of Commons and within our electoral system but also throughout our society. Here you will find articles about the current problems within our parliamentary democracy, about actions both good and bad by our elected representatives, about possible solutions, opinions and debate about the state of democracy in Canada, and about our roles/responsibilities as democratic citizens. We invite your thoughtful and polite comments upon our posts and ask those who wish to post longer articles or share ideas on this subject to submit them for inclusion as a guest post.
